Roads of Lands Remote is a family travel blog operated from Singapore. This notice explains what happens when you use this website. We do not offer reader accounts or a newsletter signup.
Information processed when you visit
Our hosting and network providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and time of request. Their log retention depends on their service settings. We use this processing to operate and secure the website.
The site does not currently run a visitor analytics script or set an analytics or advertising cookie in its application code. If that changes, we will update this notice before enabling it and add any required choice controls.
Guide ratings and comments
When the feedback feature is enabled, you can rate a named destination, neighborhood or venue from 1 to 5 where a guide has one clear subject. Ratings for the same place are combined across its guides and shown as a count and average; individual ratings are not public. You can also leave a comment with a display name on any guide. Comments are reviewed before publication. If approved, your display name, comment and submission date appear on the article. Please do not include private information about yourself or others.
On your first submission, we set a first-party, functional rolr-feedback cookie containing a random identifier for up to 180 days. It lets you update or remove your rating and helps limit repeated comments. We store a one-way keyed hash of that identifier with ratings and comments, not your IP address. You can delete the cookie in your browser, although doing so may stop us from linking a later submission to your earlier rating. Ratings and approved comments remain until removed; rejected comments are removed after 90 days when the application next starts. You can request comment removal by emailing us with the article URL and enough detail to identify your submission.
The feedback form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated submissions. When you use the form, your browser connects to Cloudflare, which processes information needed to verify the challenge under its own privacy terms. We send the short-lived challenge token to Cloudflare for server-side verification. We do not store that token. If the feedback keys are not configured, the form is unavailable.
Paid links and outbound clicks
Some articles contain clearly marked paid links. When you follow one of our /go/ booking links, our application records a random event ID, the time and the destination key and URL. It does not store your IP address, browser information, the page you came from or a consent value in that click record. These records help us understand which partner destinations readers use. The application removes records older than 12 months when it starts or processes another outbound click, so an idle database may hold older records until the next cleanup.
Some paid product links go directly to Amazon and are not recorded in our click database. Once you leave our site, the destination's own privacy and cookie practices apply. Those services may collect information or set cookies according to their policies.
Messages you send us
If you email [email protected], we receive your address and the information you choose to send and use it to respond or review a correction. The email service is hosted through Krystal. If you instead message us through Instagram or Facebook, those platforms also process your message under their own privacy policies. Please do not send sensitive information in a public comment.
Your choices and requests
You can browse without sending us a message and can choose whether to follow outside links. To ask about information we may hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, email [email protected]. We may need to verify that a request relates to you before acting on it. We will respond in line with applicable law.
We may revise this notice as the site and its services change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
